THE QUALITY OF THE UPHOLSTERY IS IMPORTANT

An important parameter is the abrasion resistance, this value indicates the degree of resistance to "peeling" of the fabric and is often referred to as Martindale. Most substances have a Martindale value of 20,000 - 45,000 cycles. In laboratory conditions, this means that after overcoming these cycles, there is a "scuffing" on the coating. For normal household use, substances with a Martindale in the range of 20,000 to 30,000 cycles are suitable. The higher the number, the better, of course. Before choosing the fabric itself, it is therefore appropriate to consider the location of the piece of furniture in the household and its occupancy.
Another important parameter is color fastness, ie the ability of the upholstery fabric to retain its color for several years. If you choose fabrics that are more expensive, due to the content of other components such as Teflon, which causes better water repellency or mixtures of silicones, do not expect the coating to have better properties as such, only its technical parameters are improved.

Alcantara is one of the luxury upholstery fabrics, Alcantara looks like suede leather. However, with its excellent properties, the skin still surpasses in many ways and is preferred to it. It is made synthetically from ultra-thin microfiber, 20 times thinner than human hair, which was developed by Japanese and Italian experts. Alcantara excels above all in its abrasion resistance and durability - Alcantara is the most durable upholstery fabric ever, the stability of quality and color is usually provided up to ten years warranty. Despite its high durability and abrasion resistance, the Alcantara offers a pleasant feeling to the touch that the included polyester adds to the Alcantara. Thanks to the fibrous structure of the fabric, made of super-thin microfibers, it perfectly permeates moisture and air, however, Alcantara is resistant to water, and therefore does not coagulate or expand. The uniform surface prevents its uneven wear, the Alcantara is available in a wide range of colors in 50 color shades. The easy maintenance and perfect appearance of Alcantara are among the main advantages of this substance, however, the only disadvantage of Alcantara is the higher price so far.
